Romans 16:17-18

Today I would like to share with you Romans 16:17-18, “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.” I share this today to point out 3 parts. First, examine yourself to make sure you are not being divisive and destructive. Second, think about the teachers you are listening to, are they sharing and teaching you the Word of God or twisting the Word of God for their own financial and popularity gain? Third, this is how you know if you are learning from a solid teacher. Ask yourself the following: am I being taught the WHOLE Word of God? Am I being taught to know the Lord in a very intimate, personal way? Am I being taught to be born again? Am I being taught to walk in the Spirit? Am I being taught that Jesus should be the Lord of my life?
