Today I would like to share with you 1st Chronicles 16:40, “To offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel.” What I would like to point out here is, just as David and the priest gave sacrifices on the altar to the Lord morning and evening, we are called to be a living sacrifice. Jesus said, “If any man want to follow me, he must pick up his cross daily.” If we are called to be a living sacrifice, we are to give ourselves to the Lord morning and evening. This means dedicating your life to the Lord in the morning and in the evening. This means dying to yourself daily on God’s altar. When you do this you will become strong in the Holy Spirit and will become completed in the Lord. Jesus became our perfect sacrifice for sin, if we are to be like Him then we must die to ourselves.
